I grew up in San Diego with 3 brothers, my mother and father. We were a tight knit family that spent a lot of time together fishing, hunting, camping and many many weekends at the little league park. All of us boys played ball growing up. With three brothers and my father, my mother was the only female in our household aside from our Black Lab Cocoa. So growing up Tuesday nights were my moms few hours of sanity bowling in her women's league. We were not allowed to go and it wasnt even an option. I vividly remember those nights because back then there was only one TV in the house and my Dad would watch Hockey, needless to say all by himself! I was a bit of a late bloomer in bowling. About 1983, in my early twenties a few of my friends and I would venture to Parkway bowl on Friday nights and hurl bowling balls down the lane at pins. I wouldnt go so far to call it bowling, but we had a good time and the beer was cold. It didn't take long for the sport to grab hold of me. Soon I had my own Caramel White Dot and was bowling leagues. By the time the calendar rolled into the nineties I was bowling three leagues a week, NABI and ABT tournaments on the weekends every chance I could. We bowled pot games on Friday night til wee hours of the morning with many of the great bowlers in town. I built a passion for the sport  that quite honestly just keeps growing. That passion has carried over into becoming a Pro Shop Operator and the desire to learn more about the game to become a coach. I look forward to serving all of you who come in to the shop.

Get To Know Jeff Row

  1. Favorite thing to do outside of bowling and why?
My favorite thing to do outside of bowling is fishing. As a kid my Dad took us fishing quite a bit and i was bitten by that bug as well. Theres nothing like spending time out on the water with great friends, enjoying the outdoors and catching dinner.
  2. Favorite movie of all time and why?
If I was to pick a favorite movie i'd have to go with Tombstone. "I'll be your Huckleberry"
  3. Favorite bowling ball of all time and why?
Easy! Purple Hammer! The remake! There is just nothing else on the market that reacts like that ball. I have had back to back 300's with it and it has made me a lot of money over the last few years. Going to be hard to take the spot of best ball from that ball.
  4. Sports fan? favorite teams? and why?
I love watching and playing sports. I played a little football and a whole lot of basketball. I might make some enemies for saying this, but I can't watch baseball at all. Growing up on basketball got me used to a fast paced, spontaneous game that never slows down. I lose my man card a little bit though as I don't have a favorite sports team. I really don't like how often players move and teams change from year to year. For me, this makes it difficult for a team to represent the same idea or brand from season to season. I tend to find players that I like and root for those players no matter what team they are on.
  5. Your favorite thing about your job at Virtue and why?
My favorite thing about working in the shop is helping people. I've always been in a business  where I'm face to face with customers providing them a service.I enjoy the interaction and self satisfaction of being able to fix their problem.
  6. If you had to describe your personality in one word, what would it be?
