Store Assistant - Night Shift
East & West Valley

  • Starting $13.00 an hour plus tips, on average this will result in $17 an hour, but varies based on location and performance.

Our store assistants that work the night shift are valuable team members that support the customer’s needs during busy night time open play times. 

There will be training provided by Virtue Bowling Supply for all duties listed. No previous experience on the listed duties is needed. As a store assitant’s ability to do more of the listed duties grows, so will compensation and hours.  

  • Managing time and tasks to insure quality customer service. 
  • Ringing up customers on the Clover POS system.
  • Providing service to walk-in customers.
  • Fitting customers for bowling balls.
  • Being very comfortable with fractions, adding and subtracting fractions.
  • Insuring store is presentable and prepared for the next day.
  • Merchandising and stocking products.
  • Drilling bowling balls and installing various gripping accessories.
  • Plugging balls, and preparing them to be re-drilled.
  • Contributing to team discussions on Basecamp application.  
  • No previous ball drilling or fitting experience required.
    • If you have no prior experience, there is an unpaid 20 hour apprenticeship program to complete first.
    • This program covers the basics and you get a free bowling ball of choice upon completion.  
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required. 
  • Either currently an active bowler or previously bowled often.
  • A passion for bowling and a passion for learning about it.
  • Reliable and organized.
  • Friendly, with good people skills.
  • Good communicator and can manage difficult conversations.
  • Access to the internet for team communications. 
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to lift 30lb.
  • Night shift assistants must be comfortable with going lane to lane and talking to open play bowlers. 
  • Night shift assistants must be comfortable with making announcements on the microphone. 

Availability needs to be between 5-9pm Sunday through Thursday and 7pm to 11pm Friday and Saturday. Night shift applicants don’t need to have all of those time windows available, but must at least have the Friday or Saturday night window available. They will be a part of a team that will work together to insure all of our scheduling needs are met, so they won’t be solely responsible for all those time periods. Please anticipate working 1-2  of these shifts a week at a minimum. If desired, this position would also have the opportunity to grow into a scheduled day time store assistant role and extra benefits.
