Assistant Manager - Mesa East Bowl

  • Starting $19.00 an hour, but can range from $19-$24 based on experience and/or resume. Tips are also common, that on average will result in an additional $2-3 an hour, but varies based on location and performance.

Our assistant managers work side by side with store managers to be leaders of their stores. They become a well known face in the store that manages all aspects of operations. This includes customer relations, merchandising, inventory management, ordering, technical advice, administrative work, and employee management. 

There will be training provided by Virtue Bowling Supply for all duties listed. No previous experience on the listed duties is needed. As an assistant manager’s ability to do more of the listed duties grows, so will compensation and opportunities.  

  • Managing time and tasks to insure quality customer service. 
  • Ringing up customers on the Clover POS system.
  • Providing service to walk-in customers.
  • Fitting customers for bowling balls.
  • Being very comfortable with fractions, adding and subtracting fractions.
  • Insuring store is presentable and prepared for the next day.
  • Merchandising and stocking products.
  • Drilling bowling balls and installing various gripping accessories.
  • Plugging balls, and preparing them to be re-drilled.
  • Contributing to team discussions on Basecamp application.
  • Forecasting work loads and insuring proper staffing to support quality operations. 
  • Managing employees and providing performance recommendations and supervision.
  • Managing inventory and placing orders.
  • Taking phone calls and filling in when problems arise that need to be resolved.   
  • No previous ball drilling or fitting experience required. 
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required. 
  • Either currently an active bowler or previously bowled often.
  • A passion for bowling and a passion for learning about it.
  • Reliable and organized.
  • Friendly, with good people skills.
  • Good communicator and can manage difficult conversations.
  • Access to the internet for team communications. 
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to lift 30lb.
  • Must be available to work a weekends from 11am to 6pm.
  • Will be working a minimum of 30 hours a week, but will average 35-40. 

Must be able to work weekends from 11:00 am to 6:00pm. 

Ideal schedule would be Friday through Tuesday, with Wednesday and Thursday off. However, that exact schedule is not required. We will take availability into consideration with other experience and resume. You will have a team that can fill in on those days to cover when needed, or for sick and vacation days. 

Will average 35-40 hours a week at Mesa East Bowl.
